Netflix Raises Subscription Prices Across the Board

Netflix has quietly increased its subscription fees again. The ad-supported plan now costs $8.99 per month, up from $7.99. The standard plan without ads has risen to $19.99, and the premium plan now costs $26.99 per month, both up $2 from previous prices.

Adding extra viewers has also become more expensive. On the ad-supported plan, an additional user costs $6.99 (down from $7.99), while on the ad-free plan it’s now $9.99 (up from $8.99).

The company says the price changes reflect improvements to its entertainment offerings and the overall quality of service. New subscribers will see the updated prices immediately, while existing members will be notified via email a month before the increases apply to their accounts.

These hikes follow Netflix’s recent updates, including video podcasts, expanded livestreaming content, a mobile app revamp, and growth in short-form videos. The increases also come shortly after Netflix withdrew its $82.7 billion bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, citing a superior offer from Paramount Skydance.
