The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Inuwa Abdullahi, has said Nigeria must ensure consistent implementation of government policies to achieve meaningful economic transformation and compete with emerging economies.
Abdullahi said frequent changes in policy direction and poor implementation could undermine development efforts, stressing that sustained reforms were essential to building a stronger economy.
He made the remarks in Garun Gabas Ward, Malam Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa State, while inaugurating a grassroots campaign office established in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Adebisi Adams, spokesperson for the Tinubu Movement for Sustainable Governance Foundation, the inauguration was part of the group’s mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Abdullahi, who chairs the movement’s Board of Trustees and serves as its National Coordinator, said the initiative would expand the organisation’s grassroots structures across Jigawa State and promote public awareness of the Tinubu administration’s policies.
“The essence of creating the TMS movement is to go down to the grassroots level to enlighten citizens on President Tinubu’s reforms,” he said.

He described economic diversification and inclusive growth as central to the administration’s efforts to achieve national prosperity, citing interventions in education, agriculture, food security, national security, digital literacy and healthcare as key areas expected to stimulate development and improve livelihoods.
The NITDA chief said the experiences of countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia demonstrated how sustained reforms and consistent policy implementation could drive economic progress.
“Nigeria requires consistent implementation of development policies to achieve meaningful economic transformation and compete favourably with emerging economies,” he said.
Abdullahi also urged residents to support Tinubu’s re-election, calling for a decisive victory in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
He further announced plans by the movement to empower 200 women in Garun Gabas Ward, saying the programme would build on previous interventions across Jigawa State, including a recent initiative in Hadejia.
According to him, beneficiaries of the Hadejia programme received financial assistance and other materials to strengthen their businesses and improve household incomes.
He said the movement would prioritise vulnerable groups, particularly women, youths, children and persons with disabilities, through economic empowerment, educational assistance and community development programmes.
