ESDIAC Global Systems Limited has secured a licence to operate in Nigeria’s data market, paving the way for the technology company to expand its telecommunications and digital connectivity services to consumers and businesses across the country.
The licence will allow the company to offer cross-border data solutions, international connectivity, data top-ups and global eSIM services through retail outlets and merchant networks.
Founded by Nigerian-born entrepreneur Austin Ugbebor, ESDIAC was established to make international communication more affordable and accessible, particularly for diaspora communities and consumers who regularly communicate across borders.
The company operates an international calling platform and provides Wi-Fi connectivity solutions through partnerships with global mobile network providers. It says its services reach tens of thousands of users worldwide.
ESDIAC said the licence would strengthen its participation in Nigeria’s domestic data market while supporting its broader goal of improving access to affordable communication services for individuals, families and businesses.
The company also commended President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government for policies it said were creating opportunities for indigenous technology firms to compete in the communications sector.

In particular, ESDIAC pointed to reforms aimed at liberalising parts of the telecommunications industry, including the airtime credit and data advance sector, saying such measures could encourage competition and innovation.
“We commend President Tinubu for his vision and determination to create a more open and competitive communications industry,” Ugbebor, the company’s founder and chief executive officer, said.
“These reforms send a powerful message that Nigerian companies can build world-class technology solutions, compete globally and create lasting value at home,” he added.
As it expands under the new licence, ESDIAC said it plans to invest in local infrastructure, workforce development and technology innovation.
The company also intends to extend affordable data and communication services to underserved communities, Nigerian businesses and members of the Nigerian diaspora.
“Our purpose is to connect people, opportunity and markets,” Ugbebor said, adding that the licence would enable the company to contribute further to Nigeria’s digital transformation.
ESDIAC describes itself as a Nigerian technology company specialising in telecommunications and data-driven services. Its offerings include prepaid communication plans, global eSIMs, international calling and cross-border data solutions.
The company says its platform serves customers across more than 150 countries and 400 cities.
